【摘要】:ThispartofIEC61280providesaparameterdefinitionandatestmethodforobtainingopticalsignal-to-noiseratio(OSNR)usingapparatusthatmeasurestheopticalspectrumatamultichannelinterface.Becausenoisemeasurementismadeonanopticalspectrumanalyzer,themeasurednoisedoesnotincludesourcerelativeintensitynoise(RIN)orreceivernoise.Threeimplementationsforanopticalspectrumanalyser(OSA)arediscussed:adiffractiongrating-basedOSA,aMichelsoninterferometer-basedOSA,andaFabry-Perot-basedOSA.PerformancecharacteristicsoftheOSAthataffectOSNRmeasurementaccuracyareprovided.AtypicalopticalspectrumatamultichannelinterfaceisshowninFigure1.Importantcharacteristicsareasfollows.?ThechannelsareplacednominallyonthegriddefinedbyITURecommendationG.694.1.[4]?Individualchannelsmaybenon-existentbecauseitisanetworkdesignedwithopticaladd/dropdemultiplexersorbecauseparticularchannelsareoutofservice.?Bothchannelpowerandnoisepowerareafunctionofwavelength.ForcalculatingtheOSNR,themostappropriatenoisepowervalueisthatatthechannelwavelength.However,withadirectspectralmeasurement,thenoisepoweratthechannelwavelengthisincludedinthesignalpowerandisdifficulttoextract.Anestimateofthechannelnoisepowercanbemadebyinterpolatingthenoisepowervaluebetweenchannels.Theaccuracyofestimatingthenoisepoweratthesignalwavelengthbyinterpolatingthenoisepoweratanoffsetwavelengthcanbesignificantlyreducedwhenthesignalspectrumextendsintothegapbetweenthesignalsandwhencomponentssuchasadd-dropmultiplexersalongthetransmissionspanmodifythespectralshapeofthenoise.TheseeffectsarediscussedinfurtherdetailinAnnexB,andcanmakethemethodofthisdocumentunusableforsomesituations.Insuchcases,wheresignalandnoisecannotbesufficientlyseparatedspectrally,itisnecessarytousemorecomplexseparationmethods,likepolarizationortime-domainextinction,ortodeterminesignalqualitywithadifferentparameter,suchasRIN.Thisisbeyondthescopeofthecurrentdocument.
